Girari's New Acrylic Box Tables

These table designs are available in both dining height and bar height; the clear acrylic box is approximately 36 x 36 x 3H.

The top is removable and will hold floral designs, memorabilia and pretty much whatever you wish to display. This is a great table for branding at a corporate event too.

However, no aquariums. Things always turn out badly with aquariums.

CASE STUDY: Sterling Engagements' Platinum Wedding

Sterling Engagements recently created a stunning Platinum Wedding. www.sterlingengagements.com.

I asked owner Alexandra Rembac about the event:

1. Why did you choose this theme? Our theme was Romantic Elegance with a Modern Twist for the Traditional Dinner Reception and Vintage Old Hollywood Glamour for the Grand Reveal After-Party. We choose this theme ultimately because the bride could not decide which direction to go, so our design team worked endlessly to merge the concepts and transform each space into their own. We did however try to incorporate details in each space from its alternate theme.

2. What elements of sustainable design and decor did you find most important to include? One of the most important elements would be the Girari Alta Chair recovered with our custom fabric. When I envisioned the space I knew we'd have to use those chairs to give us our modern twist. That with the combination of the mirrored tabletops and the floating circular orbit budvases gave us the modern aesthetic we were going for. A significant amount of the vases and specifically the metal ones were repurposed or sustainable as well.

3. How did you find your resources? I'm a big believer in the custom fit for each individual client. For this specific event, many of my resources were from my own list but I also had to seek out quite a few for this specific project. Doing so takes time and heavy research, but ultimately concludes with the perfect fit which makes it worth it in the end.

4. What were your guests’ reactions to your theme? Guests were blown away. Our goal is always to wow our guests, but this particular event did more than wow them and it was such a pleasure to be there and see the reactions firsthand. Guest entered the ballroom and were literally at a standstill, everywhere they looked their eyes caught something else, it was magical

5. What were the guests’ reactions to Girari’'s chairs? Guests loved how comfortable they were! They were all surprised by looking at them and seeing how beautiful they were, they didn't anticipate they would be so nice to sit down in as well!

6. What will you do for your next themed event? Continue to do what we do best for all our events... Design stunning concepts with highly personalized details, wowing both our clients and their guests each and every time!

Girari Adds Rental Inventory to www.rentalcomp.com

Girari's rental inventory of tables, chairs and stools are now being presented on the new web site: www.rentalcomp.com. . This new site is unique as it is the web's first rental product marketplace that allows rental producers and decorators to use Google-like keywords (e.g., "chair", "white sofa", "chocolate fountain") to find and compare rental products and services from over 30,000 unique items from over 40 rental company Vendors.

Disclosure: Girari does not have any financial ownership in RentalComp, but is aiding in the marketing of the company.

The new listing site allows event decorators and set decorators to pull "tear sheets" of specific items with photos and detailed descriptions in a standardized format to present to their clients. This is a free service to decorators. Decorators communicate directly with rental companies for their items.

The 2010 Table Top Decorating Shootout Planned for September

We are pleased to inform you that the 2010 Table Top Decorating Shootout will be returning in September. For those who are not familiar with Girari's industry event for event producers, designers, enthusiasts and interior designers, Girari hosts an annual competition to see which teams can create the most impressive, beautiful and high impact decorated tables.

Each of the 12 glass and acrylic tables is a different shape, size and height, making the judging (done by the winners of last year's competition) even more difficult. Any team can enter; in the certain event that more than a dozen teams enter, we draw from the pool of entrants, and those teams not chosen receive a entrance preference for the following year's competition.
